Allow the ability to add other types of connections such as VNC, SSH, Telnet. Even possibly webpages for web configured devices. It would be really handy to have a list of my ssh connections for switches, routers even Powershell.

MS is unlikely to ever add support for other protocols to it's Remote Desktop clients.
Instead, you might want to check out Royal TSX which does RDP, SSH, Telnet, VNC and more: https://www.royalapplications.com/ts/mac

Moritz has a fair point - an RDP client must be an RDP client.
But, I still think it would be handy to have a single point of access to all types of server. These days most people will be managing more than just Windows servers and having the ability to SSH to Linux or BSD alongside your Windows servers would be helpful (for me) and if Microsoft were the people to make such a tool, that would be great.

That's not what an RDP client is for. It should only do RDP, and do it well.
